Jaipuria School of Business (JSB), Indirapuram organised a Guest Lecture on “Corporate Law and Related Issues” by Mr. Vikrant Vashishth on 2nd February 2018. The lecture was part of the Leadership Talk series wherein the Institute invites a renowned personality from different sectors every week to deliberate and discuss various pertinent issues with the PGDM students at JSB. Mr. Vashishth is a lawyer by profession and he is already a member of the Jaipuria family as he is an alumnus of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Kanpur. Mr. Vashishth is in active legal practice with the Supreme Court of India. He has handled a wide range of Civil & Criminal Matters Pertaining to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, Original and Appellate Jurisdiction of the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi and Litigations pertaining to District Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunal, Central Administrative Tribunal, Consumer Court, Rent Tribunal etc.

The esteemed speaker talked about the various sections dealing with the business laws and the issues related to the same. He also emphasized on seeking legal advice in case of any violation of the rules and guidelines. The whole system of filing litigation was discussed and some tips were given as to how to know about the rights and duties in a particular situation. The speaker earnestly advised the students to read through the Constitution of India to be aware of the rights and duties and also urged them to spread awareness among their friends and relatives. He also talked about various important initiatives taken by the Government of India to promote healthier and freer living for the citizens. The session was highly interactive and brought forth very interesting facts about the functioning of the courts in India. Other issues which were discussed included penal provisions, IT Act, RTI, Gender Sensitization Committees, and many more. The distinguished Guest was felicitated by the Dean, JSB, Dr. Timira Shukla with a memento to express gratitude and appreciation.
