Industrial Visit to India Expo Centre, Greater Noida on 19th July 2018

Jaipuria School of Business organised an Industrial Visit for the First year PGDM students to the India Expo Centre (IEC), Greater Noida on 19th July 2018. India Expo Centre is India’s largest integrated exhibition and convention centre. The purpose of the visit was to provide the students with the real insight into the working procedure of a world-class venue and to make the students aware of the opportunities present in the domain of organising events, exhibitions and conferences.

Mr Pinakie Kansabanik, Dean and Col. H.K. Puri, General Manager, Operations at IEC interacted with the students and made a presentation on MICE – Meetings Incentives Conferences and Exhibitions & Events; IEC has been adjudged as the best MICE Convention Centre in the Country. Students were familiarised with the terminology, first, used in the domain of event organisation and further, were informed about the job opportunities in the same domain. Students were also informed about the various verticals into which MICE is operating. IEC is the largest and the most reputed venue in the country with 80,000 sq. mtr of convention space. The place has the size and the capabilities to handle what different conferences and events require in a bespoke manner.

The session was followed by a visit to the facilities at the IEC, including the halls where the major conferences, exhibitions and other events like concerts and auto expo are organised. The map of the whole Vehicular Movement, during the events, was shared with the students. The presentation sessions and the visit to the facilities provided a lot of information to the students about a whole new domain.

The visit to the IEC was organised and coordinated by Ms. Sweety Singh, Head, Placements who also accompanied the students along with the members of the faculty Dr Parul Tyagi, Dr Radha Yadav and Prof Yusuf Mehdi. The whole visit was very informative and provided a wonderful learning exposure to the students.
