The students, along with the members of the faculty and staff, of Jaipuria School of Business (JSB) celebrated the Founder’s Day on 16th January 2019 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the founder of Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions Late Sh. Rajaram Jaipuria. The celebration commenced with the Director, faculty members, staff members and the students paying floral tribute to the reverend Founder. The cultural committee of the institute organised some cultural activities to pay homage to the founder showcasing how hard work and self-belief can help one achieve even the most difficult of goals. Late Dr. Rajaram Jaipuria was an epitome of determination and through his perseverance established the Jaipuria Group whilst facing the hardest of challenges en route to success. Dr Rajaram Jaipuria had always been a humble soul and even after achieving great heights professionally, he kept working for the welfare of the society and did a lot to help the needy and the poor. A chain of public guest houses, temples, charitable hospitals and educational institutions is a testimony to that spirit.
On this propitious occasion the Institute also organised a Kathak performance in association with SPIC MACAY. The very renowned Kathak artist Ms. Mahua Shankar performed during the celebration along with her team that included very renowned musicians namely Ustaad Akram Khan on Tabla; Ustaad Murad Ali Khan on Sarangi; Nupur Shankar Ji on Padhant, and Janaab Shuheb Hasan on Harmonium. The purpose of organising the SPIC MACAY programme was to promote Indian culture and ethos which were so dear to the reverend founder.
Later, during the valedictory session the esteemed Guests were felicitated by Sh. Shishir Jaipuria, Chairman; Sh. Vinod Malhotra, Member, Board of Governors, and Dr SK Mahapatra, Director.
On the occasion, Long Service Awards were presented to Dr Anindita, Mr. Trilok, Mr. Shanti Swaroop, and Mr. Sunil for their service and contribution to the Institution building. The winners of the Grand Inter-College Debate Competition organised by JSB on December 1, 2018 were also presented with the trophies and prizes during the valedictory session. In the end, everybody paid homage to the reverend founder and vowed to take forward his vision and mission.
