The students of Class VI B traced the veins of leaves on a sheet of paper today to understand parallel and reticulate venation in leaves. They all got a leaf from a nearby plant and did the tracing activity showcasing their shading skills, students especially boys, often complain that they are not good at drawing diagrams, but today they all enjoyed tracing the leaves with all the veins highlighted. The activity was followed by discussion on the function of veins in a leaf and how different plants can be categorized as monocots and dicots by just looking at the veins of their leaves.
