5th September 2019– The much awaited annual Inter House Singing competition,SYMPHONY, was conducted today at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow. It was a double delight for the audience as it was conducted on Teachers Day. The competition was held in both Indian as well as Western music categories. The students of the four houses namely Narmada,Ganga, Godavari and Krishna put up an enthralling performance and charged up the ambience with their delightful music and melodious notes.The students were guided by the Music department teachers,Ms Preeti Mishra, Mr Anubhav Singh and Mr Sunny Kumar.

In the category of western music Narmada House stood first with their performance of the song ‘Happy’.  Beat Boxing by Ashish from class 8A and rapping by Manya Kadian of class 9C got the whole crowd cheering and clapping to the music. The second place was secured by Krishna House who performed the song ‘On My Way’. This was followed by Ganga House who sang the song ‘Drag Me Down’ followed by Godavari House who performed the song ‘Something Just Like This’. The team comprised of students from all classes. Students of classes I and II stole the hearts of the audience with their innocent charm and wonderful singing.

In the category of Indian music,Narmada House secured the first position with the motivational number ‘Kar Har Maidan Fateh’. The second position was secured by Krishna House who sang the foot tapping number of yesteryears ‘Sarr jo tera chakraye’. The third place was secured by Ganga house with a spectacular qawwali ‘Bhar de Jholi Meri’ followed by Godavari house who sang the song ‘Bhare Bhare Naina’.

The judges for the competition were Mr. Emmanuel Joseph and Ms Shifa Joseph, a sibling duo and creators of the band ‘JBC-Joseph Brothers and Crew’.They appreciated the talent of the students and advised them to pursue their dreams with relentless passion.They congratulated all the teams and said that they were impressed by the effort put in by the students and the music teachers.  This was followed by an energising performance by them.

The Principal, Mrs Poonam Kochitty, expressed in her speech how the level and the quality of the performances had grown over the last 3 years. She greatly appreciated the effort of the students and music teachers alike and motivated them to pursue greater echelons of success.
