Special Assembly on Human Rights Day

10th of December, Human Rights Day, an assembly was conducted by the students of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Lucknow on the theme – Human Rights .
The students started with a collage of pictures depicting the various deprivations faced by the underprivileged as opposed to the privileged, with access to technology and other facilities. Through a series of discussions centering around human rights, their enforcement, the students in the audience viewed the history of the declaration of Human rights. The students also realized the need for human rights for effective fulfillment of SDGs by 2030.
Atharv Kubele of class IX shared how he had taken the initiative to help migrant laborers get jobs during the pandemic and inspired many to work to protect human rights in daily life.
The vocabulary consisted of an African word- ‘ubuntu’ , to create a global consciousness, along with an English word. The thought for the day expressed the egalitarian spirit of the day.
