Sanskrit Day was organized on Tuesday -13/07/2019 at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow. The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Shobhan Lal Ukil (President-Sanskrit Bharati Awadh region). Mr. Ukil  is a retired engineer (electrical department). He is a scholar of Ashtadhyayi and teaches Ashtadhyayi for free to interested people.

Before starting the program, the Principal of the school, Mrs. Poonam Kochitty, welcomed the Chief Guest by giving a shriphal. The program was then inaugurated by the lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. After the prayer, Swati Yadav, a Class VIII student spoke about Sanskrit Day in Sanskrit. Sanskrit was translated into Hindi for the convenience of the audience by Swasti Vardhan of Class IX. Next, a Sanskrit drama “Chandrashekhar Azadah” was staged by the students of classes 7 and 8, paying tribute to the brave revolutionaries who were responsible for India’s Independence. Through the play, the boys stirred the patriotism of all the viewers. Lastly, to show the importance of Sanskrit, a sway presentation by Abhinav Singh and Aditansh (Class-8A) was shown. After the program, the Chief Guest introduced the students to the characteristics of Sanskrit language and motivated them to learn and speak Sanskrit. He also told how he gained more respect and prestige in the society and in his field, due to knowledge of Sanskrit language. He congratulated the students for successfully organizing the program, praised the students’ Sanskrit accent and thanked the school for inviting him as the Chief Guests.

In the end, the Principal thanked the Chief Guest for gracing the occasion and gifted a sapling as a memento.
