‘Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one.’

Today, the Primary wing of Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow celebrated the last working day of the year. The last celebration of the year began with the prayer song ‘God is Good’. The children had a great time discussing ‘What is a promise?’ They learned the importance of keeping a promise and its relevance in real life. The discussion further led to New Year Resolutions.

Next, a video was played where the Principal ma’am, teachers, and even the office staff shared their resolutions for the year 2022. Even the students were asked to post their resolutions in the Padlet link shared with them. It was a delight to know the grit of the students through the responses we received.

After that a video titled ‘The year that was … 2021’ was presented. It showed a glimpse of the year that went by—the major events which took place were the introduction of COVID-19 vaccination, India winning laurels in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics, the inauguration of the world’s largest stadium in Ahmedabad, the farmers fighting for their rights (Kisan Andolan), and the new variant Omicron, etc.

We had the privilege of witnessing the inauguration of the new building and the RJ room. This gave the chance to many of our students to enhance their communication skills, and to explore a new career field for their future. We also overcame the uncertainties and challenges and managed to reopen the school in the hybrid mode.

Then a video was shown on how different cultures celebrate the New Year.

This was followed by fireless cooking. Pinki ma’am, Sudha ma’am, and Kratika ma’am prepared a mouthwatering ‘Tropical Truffle’. They used easily available ingredients like Britannia cake, whipped cream, fruits, and orange juice for preparing the pudding.

How can music and dance stay behind in any celebration? Our students hummed and danced to the tune of some beautiful Christmas carols.

The celebration ended with a few wise words from our Principal ma’am. She emphasized the importance of making and keeping our resolutions and being a better version of ourselves.
