“Mother is the greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love & fearlessness.”
Mother’s day celebrated virtually on 8th May, was the first of it’s kind for everyone at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Lucknow. The Disneyland Theme had been planned in February itself, when the school activity calendar was being finalised .Little did we know then, how different circumstances would be. We did not however want to deviate from the Disneyland theme. After a weeklong preparations, celebration began in the Pre-Primary classes with the prayer ‘A gift to you’ dedicated to all the mothers. Then Ms Preeti, the music teacher sang a beautiful song dedicated to all the mothers ‘Aisa kyu maa.’ After that parents & kids danced on the songs ‘I like to move it & many more. The celebration continued with mothers and kids dressing each other up as Disney characters. We had Aadya Joshi & her mother dressed as Princess, Luv & Kush as Mickey Mouse & many more. The whole class, including the teachers, dressed as Disney characters. Swati and Sierra the Pre-Nursery teachers dressed as Minnie and Minion. In another activity parents and children imitated Donald Duck’s walk.Children then presented handmade cards to their mothers and then they shared their views about motherhood.
All the children in class Nursery too, dressed up as Disney characters namely Mickey, Minnie, and Spiderman etc. They recited rhymes on Mother’s day and gave handmade card to their mothers. Sarthak recited a poem for his mother. Then the little chefs rustled up snacks for their mothers and fed them with their little hands. Finally they danced on the song Hakuna-Matata followed by a video on Disneyland.
The Kindergarten celebrated Mother’s day with some interesting poems on Mothers. The kids and mothers were excited as they were dressed up as Disney characters. The fathers were also creative and helped their kids in making crowns for their mothers. The children honoured their mothers and made them wear the Crown. Then followed a puppet show in which Alia, the puppet, showed that mothers are Superheroes. Anubhav Sir, the music teacher, sang a very emotional song for all the mothers ‘Meri Pyari Ammi’. All the mothers shared their views on this occasion and sang a few songs as well.
The entire celebration came as a big surprise as parents did not expect such a grand virtual celebration. Some even became quite emotional. It was an amazing experience, one that we have never witnessed before. “A mother’s love will never end .It is there from the beginning to the end”.
