Pandemic not withstanding, we could not let a special day like Mother’s Day go by without any celebration. At SAJS Lucknow, celebrations play a huge part in experiential learning and have continued unhindered even on the online platform.
On 9th May 2020, over an hour and a half show was put up virtually on the occasion of Mother’s Day and the messages received thereafter, from parents especially mothers, are testimonials that the event was a huge success.
The Guest of Honour for the event was Ms.Meghna Mishra who is known for her two superhit tracks, ‘Nachdi Phira’ and ‘Main Kaun Hoon’ from the movie Secret Superstar. She received the Filmfare award for the ‘Best Playback Singer’ in the year 2017 for her track ‘Nachdi Phira’.Her infectious smile and melodious voice entertained the audience as she sang ‘Nachdi Phira’ and ‘Meri Pyari Ammi”. We were blessed to have an interaction with her parents too, who emphasized the fact that children should be allowed to pursue their passion and should be guided and encouraged in their journey.
The students of the primary wing expressed their love for their mothers in different languages-Darshit Jain spoke in Sanskrit, Ayush Paria in Bengali, Bhavesh in Punjabi, and Rida in Urdu.
A speech in English was delivered by Saumitra Saran and Suryaansh of class X and in Hindi by Ishita of class IX. Ria Sawant of class IX recited a poem for the doting mothers.
The Music and Dance mentors, Ms. Preeti Misra and Mr, Amit also performed to show their gratitude and express how the whole universe rests in a simple and single word-MOTHER
A special Mother’s day video compiled by Mr.Amit and Mr.Mohit on the lyrics by the Science teacher Mr.Jayant was greatly applauded. The Mother’s Day programme was compered marvelously by Ms.Anuradha.
The Headmaster, Mr. Pankaj Rathore in his vote of thanks said that even God takes rebirth on this planet again and again to experience a mother’s love.
The Principal Ms.Poonam Kochitty, urged the mothers to recognize and encourage any talent that their children have, without having expectations and being judgmental. She appreciated the efforts of the teachers and said that the team effort in organizing the event was outstanding.
