Life Skills Weaved Around Science
Teachers play a valuable role in imparting life skills through their subjects. At Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Lucknow, the mentors across classes leave no stone unturned to bring perspectives, content, theories, etc. from various disciplines to establish a relationship with the real world.
One such Science lesson was taken up by Ms. Shilpi Agarwal in grade VII for the chapter Fibre to Fabric. An extended project was given to the students related to weaving. The aim was to make them understand and appreciate the intricate hard work of the weavers across India. The students also discussed the need of sustainable fashion solutions to heal the planet.
Different colors of wool were used by them on a cardboard loom as warp and weft. The collage shared by some students was really heartening.
