Visual art has been used to document the natural world for thousands of years. We may not have witnessed the entire flora and fauna that exists on our planet but sketches, diagrams and pictures make it accessible and possible.
Science when integrated with Art becomes a powerful tool for student learning. Last week the students of grade VI learnt about various parts of a plant and different types of leaf venation. The children were thrilled to see a leaf skeleton and observe the reticulate venation of Peepal leaves. What next??? They delved on to do some art work!!!
A variety of decorative pieces were made by the children which can see in the collage shared by them.
