Janmashtami Celebration at ISKON Temple
On 22nd of August the Pre-Primary & Primary students celebrated Janmashtami with great fanfare at the ISKON temple Ansal, Golf City. The festival of Janmashtami began with chanting of devotional songs by the priests of the temple followed by a melodious bhajan by our music teacher Ms. Preeti Mishra. The programme began with a brief information about Lord Krishna and the significance of celebrating Janmashtami by Ms.Heena Srivastava, K.G. teacher. This was followed by an enlightening speech by the Chief Priest “Guruji”of the temple.
Later,the tiny tots of the Pre-Nursery presented a fancy dress show “Gopals and Gopikas” followed by “Gokul kigaliyan”a beautiful dance performance by Nursery. Ms.Ajita Singh threw light on the life of Lord Krishna through small stories before the beginning of all performances. The students of Kindergarten gave a mesmerising performance on “Madhubanmein”.Class 1st and 2nd performed on “Mukunda Mukunda”which was a treat to the eyes for everyone present there.
Ms. Anuradha Shanker, Hindi teacher, concluded the event through stories on the life of Lord Krishna where students of class 2nd spoke on “Glimpses of Krishna’s Life”.
Finally the “Handi Phodh” ceremony was the icing to the cake.The event ended with sweets distribution and blessings by Guruji.
