International Yoga Day – 21st June, 2021
Fitness is the need of the hour. Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Sushant Golf City, Lucknow celebrated health on International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2021, by starting the online class with a powerful, ambience-setting AdiYogi song, and a brief introduction about Yoga by Sunidhi Singh, Saanvi Singh and Tanishq. A Yoga workout regimen was completed under the able online instructions of the guest of the day, Dr. Deepti Joshi, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences from Prayagraj . She mentioned that Yoga, a tradition perfected by our ancestors 10000 years back, has profound impact on spiritual, mental and physical aspects of a person and helps to deal with the uncertainties of life. The workout started with neck exercises, progressed to stretching of limbs, body parts, which was enthusiastically followed by students, teachers and their families.
The audience came to know about the benefits of various asanas-Pashchimottam asan, digestion aiding Vajra Asana, vakra Asana, which gives flexibility, prone asanas- shalabh Asana – relieving malaise, backpain, nauka Asana, strengthening the backbone, hal Asana, chakra asanas- where the body is bent completely back and suspended , reducing abdominal fat, adding flexibility to the whole body, and many more. Every complicated twists of every part of the body brought freshness and relief, this exercise ended with the transforming SHAV ASANA, INHALING OXYGEN AND POSITIVE THOUGHTS, EXHALING NEGATIVES, CARBON DIOXIDE, creating a new self, this was followed by Pranayam- breathing exercises- which includes Kapalbhati and Anulom Vilom ,adding oxygen and well-being to the body. Mrs. Poonam Kochitty, Principal, applauded the efforts of the guest and also raised a pertinent question about some asanas which could alleviate the side-effects of working online. The expert suggested stretching of hands, moving eyeballs, widening eyes, focussing them on an object, bhujang asan, side stretch, supine position-cycling etc. as stress-busters. She further discussed the benefits to the endocrine system , tar and vrikashasan in particular, which stimulates pituitary gland, thyroid is affected, enhancing growth , side stretching stimulates the liver, pancreas etc. inducing the holistic development of the human body.
All participant received online certificates of participation for the session .
