From Rural India to New Zealand
A Journey of A Thousand Miles Begins With A Single Step…
On the 15th of December, 2020, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Lucknow, invited Mr. Sujeet Yadav a Graphic and Web Designer, currently working in Napier, New Zealand, for virtual interaction, to inspire the budding young minds and tell them that how miracles do happen.
His story proved that a miracle is nothing but another name for hard work. Mr. Sujeet told the students about how he went from a small village in Uttar Pradesh to New Zealand and achieved success. The story of his life is full of trials and tribulations but his determination and undying spirit kept him going.
Mr. Sujeet is an alumnus of Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, where he learned about graphics and animation. He inspired the students by sharing some of his experiences such as the three thousand plus job applications he had to make in the already scarce job field. Also, the four months of the no pay he had to work for and his struggles for even joining the college that was last minute. He shared that how, even after getting 98% he still couldn’t get what he deserved, easily. He braved all the challenges to stand tall and carve a niche for himself. He talked about adapting to the new country, people, customs, and traditions.
Principal, Mrs. Poonam Kochitty, was overwhelmed and proud to meet her ex-student. She fondly shared some memories of young Sujeet when he was in school. She wished him more success and a wonderful life ahead.
Mr. Sujeet concluded the session with a profound life mantra-“No matter what you do, never ever give up.” The take away was to work hard and believe in oneself. He answered the questions and promised to help the students in the future too.
It was a delight to meet Mr. Sujeet. We are thankful to our Principal for organizing virtual interaction sessions with people from all walks of life in order to help us broaden our thoughts and be ready for the future.
