Density Gradient Experiment in Class VI
While teaching about density in Class VI, I explained to children that when immiscible liquids of different densities are mixed together they arrange themselves into separate layers, and we can mix different colors in liquids to make a beautiful rainbow. We explored densities in our online class first, by using solids such as stone, wooden cork, eraser, rubber ring, coins, etc. which was tried by students simultaneously and then using liquids such as honey, hand sanitizer, water, oil and shaving foam. This activity was followed by a discussion on what is density and viscosity.
