Breaking Stereotypes Introducing Inclusiveness
On the last day before the summer break, the Seth Anandram Jaipuria Lucknow staff took time out to unwind, relax and have some fun. The morning began with an energetic Zumba session led by the two dance teachers, Amit and Sugandh. The invigorating steps to some peppy music set the tone for the day.
Then followed an exciting eight-over cricket match between the Jaipurian Smashers and Jaipurian Hitters. What made this match special was that we had our lady teachers and support staff play in the team. This attempt, the first of its kind, was made to build a stronger, more equitable community by breaking gender stereotypes and being truly inclusive.
In an exciting match witnessed by the teaching, non-teaching, and support staff, the Hitters managed a sterling win by overpowering the Smashers. The hilarious live commentary by the Headmaster Mr. Pankaj Rathore, kept the momentum going and kept the audience both entertained and often in splits. It was a day to remember!
