On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, three representatives from the daily newspaper ‘Dainik jagran’ visited Seth Anandram Jaipuria School on 1st October 2018. They held a session on Swatch Bharat Abhiyan with the students of Classes I to V, explaining the meaning and importance of health, hygiene and sanitation in our daily lives.

The representatives from the Hindi daily briefed the children about cleanliness drive in India called ‘Swatch Bharat Abhiyan’ or Clean India Campaign. This initative was taken by our Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi in 2014 on the birth anniversary of the pioneer of cleanliness campaign in India, Mahatma Gandhi.

Children were also shown various equipments and disinfectants used to keep our home and surroundings clean. They encouraged the children to keep themselves clean and develop basic rules of staying hygienic. It was a 40 minute enriching session.

At the end of the session, the students as well as teachers took a pledge under the able guidance of the Headmistress, Mrs. Madhushree Bhaumik to keep their country clean.

They vowed to make efforts on an individual basis to keep India clean by working on the grass root level each day.
