“Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.”- Albert Einstein

National Education Policy (NEP) – 2020 is a Union Cabinet of India approved new educational vision of India for a new and better educational system. The main aim is to set a new framework and shape the education system and the students’ education, aspirations and quality of life. This is a student centric effort to not just provide education but to develop them for the society and organization at the same time.

National Education Policy 2020 envisions an India-centric education system that contributes directly to transforming our nation sustainably into an equitable and vibrant knowledge society by providing high-quality education to all.

A virtual session was organised by Macmillan on 15th January 2022, on Implementation of National Education Policy-2020

The initiatives for the meeting were taken well in advance.

The resource person was Dr. Amrita Vohra (Director of Education, GEMS India) and she was welcomed by our Principal, Mrs. Shikha Banerjee.

Dr Amrita conducted an interactive and enriching session on how to implement NEP by explaining the challenges faced by higher education in India. She emphasized the need and care with which NEP is created by keeping the various challenges such as, fragmented educational eco-system, lesser emphasis on cognitive skills, rigidity in discipline separation, limited teachers, and institutional autonomy in mind.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to our Principal for her continuous support and guidance, which contributed to the successful execution of this session. We would like to acknowledge Dr. Amrita Vohra for briefing the teachers on the new era of education.

Mrs. Madhushree Bhaumik, (VP Junior School), Teachers from Pre-primary and English Teachers from Classes I to XII attended the workshop and benefitted a lot out of it.
