Visit to IIT Kanpur: Sewage Treatment systems
As a pre-event of Atal Tinkering Marathon on 25th October, 2017 our students visited few villages to understand their problems of waste management, toilets, their soak pits, the seepage of drainage, contaminating underground water. They visited IIT Kanpur to see the sewage treatment systems, interacted with experts in the field. Based on the learning, they made a prototype using carbon filters, sediment chambers etc which may be further refined into cost effective solution.
