Background
The qualitative research has become a powerful and active method of interpretation and understanding of human behaviour. It has gained importance across many academic disciplines. Qualitative research as a field of study, qualitative approaches include research concepts and methods from multiple established academic fields. The strength of qualitative research is its ability to provide complex textual descriptions of how people experience a given research issue. It provides information about the “human” side of an issue – that is, the often contradictory behaviours, beliefs, opinions, emotions, and relationships of individuals
The FDP on Qualitative research will aim at improving qualitative skills of teaching faculty and research scholars in both sciences and social sciences. This FDP is especially useful to those conducting research in highly dynamic environments where the researcher is able to address a range of l issues which cannot be answered exclusively with a quantitative standpoint.
Objective
• To provide an overview of comprehensive qualitative research framework and acquire expertise in identifying appropriate qualitative tools for different types of research objectives
• To acquaint the participants with the use of basic data analysis tools with the help of software’s like NVIVO, MAXQDA
• To provide a hands-on experience to the participants in analyzing and interpreting data for conducting qualitative research in the different subject domains by using statistical software.
• To improve the skills of writing effective research papers using qualitative research methods.

Pedagogy
The FDP includes a mix pedagogical approach where the participants will have lectures and discussions on the qualitative approach of the research and also hands on experience with the experts for the application of analytical software used in qualitative research.

Programme Fee
FDP Registration Fees: Rs 2500 per participant.
