Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh is established under AICTE Startup policy. This cell is a one-stop shop for all information. In order to adopt the National innovation and Start-up Policy at the institution level, an eight-member committee is constituted by the Jaipuria Institute of Management to formulate detailed guidelines for various aspects related to innovation, Startup, and entrepreneurship management. This committee will be deliberating on various facets for nurturing the innovation and Startup culture in the institution, which will be covering Intellectual Property ownership, norms for technology transfer, and commercialization. Subsequent to the release of the Startup policy by AICTE and further training received from the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and interaction with industry advisors and mentors, a comprehensive policy guiding document has also been prepared.

Objectives of Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC)

  • To systematically foster the culture of Innovation in the institution
  • To encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes
  • To provide mentorship and develop entrepreneurial skills among students
  • To provide infrastructure support for early-stage enterprise development
  • To develop and implement Innovation & Entrepreneurship strategy and policy for the entire institute in order to integrate the entrepreneurial activities
  • To ensure exposure of maximum students to innovation and pre incubation activities at their early stage
  • To enhance in-house competency development to serve potential and early-stage entrepreneurs and student innovators at the institute.
  • To strengthen the inter-departmental and inter-institutional linkage, incubators and other ecosystem enablers at different levels.

Functions of IIC:

  • Conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion
  • Identify and reward innovations and share success stories
  • Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators
  • Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations
  • Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students
  • Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries

Mr. Gaurav Singh Pundhir is Ex AVP and Business Head FMCG-SPAR India Aditya Birla Retail. He is an advisor to start-ups, vast experience in FMCG, Healthcare & Retail with top companies like Spar India, Aditya Birla Retail, Godrej, Reckitt Benckiser and Marico. Mr. Pundhir is having multicultural, multi-industry, multi-locational experience across Indian, Dutch, American and British companies having had exposure to leadership roles. He also provides consultancy to early-stage start-ups on launch plans & help them evaluating product-market fitment. He is also a visiting Member – Korea International Trade Association (KITA), Seoul.

Shailza Dasgupta
Social entrepreneur and founder -Chalo Let’s go and Homestays of India

A social entrepreneur, Shailza works closely with local rural communities to augment the village economy by generating alternative income streams through homestays and other tourism-related activities. Explorer by heart and a travel consultant by profession, Shailza has traveled extensively in rural India and has spent time with tribal people. After working for companies like Google and McKC for over a decade she finally followed her heart and started writing and consulting. She writes for various travel publications that include HappyTrips – Time of India travel initiative, Terrascape, Discover India, Women’s Era, Alive and leading newspapers like The Hindu and Times of Oman. She co-founded Homestays of India with an aim to support authentic family-run homestays across India and provide travelers a unique cultural experience. Prof. (Dr.) Daviender Narang is seasoned professional with over two Decades of hands-on expertise and experience in Management of Institution, have been an academician at heart yet an administrator at mind and practise with a proven track record in working in the education management industry. He has been associated with World bank supported project for Two years on Capacity building in Ethopia with Ethopian Civil Service University, Addis Ababa, Ethopia as Associate Professor. Mr. Narang has acquired expertise in curriculum development imbibing the current corporate need and demand and shaping the career of budding managers by providing them with the right platform and curriculum. He is a proactive professional with the inherent capability and desire to induce innovation in students through teaching pedagogy and change management. Besides that Mr. Narang has functioned as a Corporate Trainer; involved in imparting training on Financial modules (eg. Mutual funds, Security market and Capital market).

Dr. Sheetal is an assistant professor and NISP nominated faculty for the adoption of national Innovation and start-up policy. She is an inquisitive learner with a knack for business analytics, determined to develop entrepreneurial mindset of the students. Prof. Ajay Pandit
Visiting Faculty (Professor) – Jaipuria Institute of Management

Prof. Ajay Pandit is the visiting faculty (Professor) in Jaipuria Institute of Management. Before that, he served as a Professor (Marketing) in FMS Delhi University, GGS IP University, and Hainan University, China. He was awarded by Higher Education and Development Award, by the International Association of Educators for world peace (UN-affiliated NGO having special status with ECOSOC, UNDPI, UNESCO, UNICEF).
He has done research in the area of Emerging market multinationals and Green Marketing practices by MNEs. Mr. Pandit has delivered lectures at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Hainan Provincial Government, Haikou, Hainan, China, and in workshops organised for the officers of the SAARC nations and developing nations of Africa and Asia.

Prof. Sadananda Prusty
Dean (Academics) – Jaipuria Institute of Management

Dr.Sadananda Prusty is Professor and Dean-Academics at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad. He has done Post-Doctoral Research (PostDoc) from the Faculty of Economic Sciences at the University of Warsaw, Poland and executive education on case method of teaching and writing from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA. Mr. Prustry has visited IESEG School of Management at Lille and Paris to teach their summer class students. Besides that, he has successfully organized international conferences, Management Development Programs (MDPs) for junior and middle level managers, Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) and a few consulting assignments jointly with the faculty colleagues.

Dr. Nidhi Mathur
Associate Professor – Jaipuria Institute of Management

Dr.Nidhi Mathur is an Associate Professor in the area of finance and her research areas are Corporate Finance, Security Analysis and Investment Behavior. In Jaipuria Institute of Management, She is also heading the Entrepreneurship Development Cell. Besides that, Dr.Mathur has been a resource person for universal human values and professional ethics for FDPs conducted by AKTU.

Students’ coordinators

A diligent, dynamic, debonair, Mr. Satyam singh is farsighted towards the idea of bringing up the passion of entrepreneurship, He has participated in different B plans competition across India and came out to Top 7 finalist out of 50 teams and 150 individual participators at the National Business plan competition IDEATHON-2021. Speaking of the records, he had also excelled as an Outreach Volunteer at GlobalChange makers for working towards Social Entrepreneurship. Owing to his competence to the experience of working with top unicorn startups of India like Paytm and BYJU’s.

Satwik Basu is assisting Placement assistance team and have been the coordinator in Hackathon in Under graduate programme. He has recently represented the college in National event: Pitch Shark Tank.

Anshul Kumar is working as an innovative freelancer in the area of DevOps and good technical expertise in Computer Programming, Database Development, and logic building.

Pallavi Lawania has been the member of entrepreneurship cell in BanasthaliVidhyapeeth which is sponsored by Atal Incubation center and she managed various events there.
