Paper Recycling – from Trash to Treasure
On a rough estimate, for one student, five trees are felled for stationery in addition the pulp and paper manufacturing industry is among the world’s largest users of energy and emitters of greenhouse gases, and a significant source of water pollution and landfill. So as to minimize the effect the school has its own paper recycling unit which recycles the waste paper ( at the same time use the cellulose rich water from the unit for watering and nourishing plants) .
The school as a responsible stakeholder is running a successful paper recycling programme since 11 years. The school‟s recycling program is a district-wide group effort with students at all grade levels, local businesses and the wider community participating in it.
