Learner Centred Stategies

It is a widely accepted fact that teaching learning in the classroom should be centered around learners and active participation by them.

Learners actively construct their own knowledge by connecting ideas to the existing ideas on the basis of materials/activities presented by them. Learner centered education creates opportunities for students to teach each others, answer the peer questions & present the results of their works. If the students develop the skills of public speaking from a young age, they will acquire an important asset for their professional lives.

Sustained efforts are being put by Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, its management and teachers to start active learning and integrate it with curriculum.

Teachers are being trained in this approach so that they apply the principles & provide their students with a better learning experience.

Teacher questioning is an integral part of classroom teaching, learning process and often a small number of students participate in this process to provide answers. SAJS believes that Display Boards, Print-rich classroom corridors, activities, Smart Board Games, Camps, Competitions round the year enhances the participation of all the students. These activities are very useful for Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation and Seth Anandram Jaipuria School is following such learning practice in their daily routine.

This education always allows the students to interact with their teams through discussions & group activities. This approach encourages students to sit in groups by sitting with other peers; students discuss, work together & learn to deal with others and many other daily tasks that eventually help them to become team players.

Instead of simply pouring information over the child’s mind, the facilitator presents the student with an issue and guides the class as they build a solution. Students discover the new information and come up with a solution instead of passively waiting for the teacher’s answer. Thus developing the skills of exploring problems and making decisions to solve them is extremely valuable.
