Independence Day
India earned its freedom
With non-violence and wisdom.
The journey was not easy
It was full of difficulty and misery.
People were divided,
Many communities were misguided.
Years passed by,
But the families were still in grief and sigh.
Finally, people overcame the past
And came together from every caste
We all emerged as one
To shine as bright as the sun.
We walked towards the development
And did things for India’s betterment.
We fought many fights,
Both at land and heights
Today the day has come,
When we play the anthem with drums.
Now nobody can hound
As we are technologically sound
Let the flag high with pride,
To celebrate the earned rights
That we were earlier denied
And pray to bright
