Giving Wings To Science – CBSE Science Exhibition 2019-2038 views Rahul Singh
The Regional CBSE Science Exhibition 2019-20 was organized at Seth Anandram Jaipuria School, Vasundhara Ghaziabad, on29-30 November, 2019. The event was organized in order to promote practical learning of Science and Technology among school students. This futuristic event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 88 schools and more than 128 exhibits.The theme for this exhibition was “Science and Technology for Sustainable Development with a Thrust on Water Conservation” with sub themes being Cleanliness and Health, Sustainable Agricultural Practices,Industrial Development, Resource Management, Future Transport and Communication, Educational Games and Mathematical Modeling and others, each theme addressing an area of concern.
The event was graced by the eminent Chief Guest Dr Joseph Emmanuel-Director (Academics), CBSE, Dr Shweta Singh-Joint Secretary, CBSE, Mr Manish Agarwal, RO, CBSE and Director Schools-SAJS Mr Harish Sanduja, and six other judges who were experts from various fields. The program commenced with lighting of the lamp and a welcome song. It was followed by a beguiling Saraswati Vandana and dance performance.Through her inspiring speech, the Principal cum Director of the school Ms. Manju Rana encouraged and congratulated the participants and remarked how the young generation has wholeheartedly accepted the incessant changes in technology and still kept their true Indian values and traditions intact. She said competitions are not just for winning or losing, but to carve a niche for oneself and bestow fellow learners with inspiration and insight.
The Hon’ble Chief Guest, Dr Emmanuel, in his speech, congratulated the participating teams and commented on the magnitude of education for the transformation and development of a superior society. He said that science and technology, has fostered a new intellectual temper known as scientific temper.He emphasized on minimalistic living as advocated by Gandhi ji for achieving sustainable development in future. He also encouraged the students to participate in such exemplary competitions and build up their knowledge and competitive spirit.
The participating teams presented their creative, unique and innovative ideas as a resolution to everyday challenges through their working models, exhibits, projects and presentations supported by reports, display and research findings. The enthusiasm among the students was incredible and they were able to initiate their personal scientific expedition through self-motivation and with a concern for sustainability and inclusivity. The exhibits were evaluated by a panel of distinguished judges drawn from the field of Science and Technology.
The Exhibition concluded on 30 November, 2019 with the valedictory function in which certificates were presented to the top 21 models, which were judged to be the best and which would be the teams selected for the National Science Exhibition. The certificates were awarded by the Chief Guest for the ceremony Mr.Harish Sanduja and Principal cum Director Ms.Manju Rana.
The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Madhavi Goswami-Coordinator of the event, who extended sincere gratitude to the eminent guests and the Principal cum Director for providing a platform to the participants and encouraging science enthusiasts. She said that such competitions offer opportunities to participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude.
