ATL Community Day

Together We Herald A New Era

21st century -It is the best of times , it is the marvel of a dynamic age , that heralds innovation, collaboration, digitalization and establishment of a global community. Therefore, education, which is the harbinger of change in a society, has to be drawn out of its isolated four walls of the classroom and touch the larger concerns of the world. With an aim of reinventing education system, that responds to the needs of industry 4 revolution, where man and machine align to explore new possibilities, Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Ghaziabad celebrated Community Day on the occasion of Dr. B.R Ambedkar’s Birth Anniversary, April 14, 2019, in its premises.

The fun-filled day of innovation was graced by the presence of dignitaries like Mr. Ashish Nayan, Expert Niti Ayog, Mr. Makhan Lal Gupta , Observer Niti Ayog, Ms. Aishwarya , mentor of Change , NIti Ayog. Mr. Shivam Tiwari , facilitator and Tinkering expert ,Ms Manju Rana, Principal cum Director, Ms. V. Suprabha , Vice Principal and Ms. Indu Kohli, Headmistress. The smooth coordination of the event was successfully effectuated by the ATL Convenor Ms. Madhavi Goswami. The occasion witnessed all the stake holders of this massive change –Around 100 children from 17 schools of Delhi- NCR, parents, NGOs , social welfare organizations, tinkering and brainstorming under one roof in Atal Laboratory, to experience the world of Science and future technologies.

One could not help feel astounded at the hands-on-sessions conducted during the day which created wonders of technology like 3D Printers working with wood, metal and PLA, marble machines etc. The projects made by the students like Autobot, Hovercraft, Prosthetic hand, First Aid dispenser, Noiseless Copy Submission machine, Smart shopping card spoke volumes about their ingeniousness. Sessions on tinkering, prototyping , IOT , Robotics were highly informative and edifying.

With a vision to ‘Cultivate one Million children in India as Neoteric Innovators’, NIti Ayog has initiated Atal Innovation Mission which is being executed throughout the country through Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs). The objective of this scheme is to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in young minds; and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning, physical computing etc. Imbibing the spirit of the mission in its true sense Seth Anandram Jaipuria School Ghaziabad is already on its journey of creating a workforce skilled in 21st century skills through Atal Lab’s innovations. Though many accomplishments are credited to the school in this sphere , but the school is glad to share that two teams of Atal Tinkering Lab from our school made it to it to the Top 200 teams of the ATL Tinkering Innovation Marathon 2018-19 conducted by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog and The Better India, with the support from GE and IBM.

Community Day celebration was a reflection of our belief that life-changing tasks such as preparing our youth to solve real world problems, with 21st century skill sets, can be accomplished only when each and every member of our community is roped in it and becomes an integral part of it. The event was successful in sending the vibes of the change across the hearts of the participants and the school would continue with its endeavours in this direction in future too.
