The Earth Day celebrations in school began with a special assembly by the students of Class II C. the assembly revolved around wonderful thoughts and amazing facts about the Earth and its environment.
The tiny-tots of Primary and Nursery sang songs, recited poems and also planted the saplings of ‘Jamun’.
The students of Classes I, II and III refreshed themselves with a Nature Walk in the school under the guidance of their teachers. They learnt about the different types of plants and trees. Planting of the ‘Kochhia’, ‘Potulacca’ and ‘Potato’ plants was fun for them.
The eventful day continued for the students of Classes IV and V as they went around painting all the big trees in the school. They also cleared the litter from the ground and plucked the outgrown grass and weeds.
It was a very interesting and enriching day for the students as they got more attached and connected to the school environment. Their bonding grew with each passing activity during the day.
A Poster Making Competition was organized in the school on 21st March, 2018 where around 20 Schools from all over Kanpur participated. The poster made by them were based on the theme “Save Environment”.v
Swami Satyamaya Nandji graced the occasion with his benign presence and shared some important facts related to the environmental issues. Our Principal Ma’am, Mrs. Shikha Banerjee welcomed the Chief Guest and the Participating teams. The event culminated with a vote of thanks delivered by our Headmistress Ma’am, Mrs. Madhushree Bhaumik.
