Sundar Kumar Gandikota completed B.E. (Electrical Engineering) from Regional Engineering College, Allahabad, in 1982. He worked in the functions of design, engineering, project management, and general management for sixteen years before joining the Rishi Valley School (Krishnamurti Foundation of India) as a faculty member in 1998. He lived there for eight years and was initiated into school education by extra-ordinary educators.
The initiation into school education at Rishi Valley provided the intensity to continue his explorations in school education while serving schools like Chinmaya International Residential School, Coimbatore, Anubhuti School, Jalgaon, and Orchid International School, Nasik. He joined our school in February 2015.
Sundartaught Mathematics, Physics and a couple of other subjects over the years. He is passionate about understanding, designing and implementing management and educational processes in schools so that children are able to learn and respond to the complex demands placed on them in sensible and intelligent ways. His experiences suggests that even while a school is exploring management and educational process for a liberal, progressive and child centered teaching- learning processes, it is possible to aim for efficiency and effectiveness for improving both “top line” and “bottom line.” He has completed his doctoral thesis in “A study of the management style and growth of students and teachers at Rishi Valley School.”
His other interests include aesthetics, philosophy, literature, sciences, economics, writing and travelling.
