The Elderly are the Precious Gem in the Centre of the Family – Grand Parents Day (2018-2019)

What children need most are the essentials that Grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort and lessons in life and most importantly cookies- Rudy Giuliani. It is very important to educate the youth about the important contributions our elders have made to the society throughout history.

Their wisdom, sacrifice, struggle and the comfort of their presence needs to be given its due place with all dignity and pride. In the light of this fact; Seth Anandram Jaipuria School celebrated Grandparents’ Day in its premises.

It was a two day fest that was held on 27 November and 29 November 2018 respectively. The ceremonial occasion was graced by Chief Guests Ms. Seema Rathi, Director Principal of Kidzee Poppins Pre School on day 1 and Smt. Sunita Jaipuria Vice Chairperson Jaipuria Education Society on day 2. The tiny tots of Nursery created a pious ambience of purity and peace by starting the day with a beautiful Ganesh Stuti which was followed by a Welcome Song where the kids warmly welcomed the Grand Parents with their melodious and heart winning song. After this was a dance performance on a song “Say no to Plastic” through which the kids opposed the use of plastic and its adverse effects. The children performed a vibrant Rajasthani folk dance on a foot tapping music “Shubh Din Aayo” and many more. Principal Cum Director Ms. Manju Rana addressed the gathering and extended her heartfelt gratitude to all the grand parents for being there to encourage their grandchildren and making us privileged with their presence. The programme was attended by over 700 grandparents and was also witnessed by the Vice Principal Ms. Sarojini Sinha, Head Mistress Ms. Indu Kohli and Pre Primary Co-ordinator Ms. Kabila Rawat.

The grand event ended on a poignant note for the grandparents as they felt overwhelmed by the tribute paid to them and on a reflective note for our youngsters, who were made to realize that everyday of the year should be considered as Grandparents’ Day.
