‘Folk’ literally means people and ‘tales’ means stories. Folk tales were the means of entertainment in ancient India and were mostly based on Mythology. Mythology though is fictitious but closely relates religion with customs, culture and social practices followed by the society. An inter-house competition Folk Tales was conducted on Wednesday, 30th August 2017 for classes I and II. Children of different houses gave their presentation of Folk-tales behind festivals like Raksha-Bandhan, Lohri, Eid and Dusshehra. Children learnt the motive behind the celebration of every festival and enjoyed every presentation thus fulfilling the purpose of the Inter-House Activity.
